/I have found there is really no point to Called Shots in SR, other than maybe
/blowing out a car's tires or bypassing armor. By the rules, even for
/Smartlink-2, the damage level increase just isn't worth the extra +2
/modifier. Better to get more successes at a lower TN and stage up.
The Called Shot rule come in handy if you're a creative player and can
figure out shots for good effect (I shoot the cable holding the crate which
drops it on the plank catapulting the barrel (on the other end of the
plank) into the bad guy's van).
Also, the GM can create situations for the called shot (the one that comes
to mind is one of the opening scenes in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
when Clint Eastwood's character shoots the hangman's rope).
But, if you don't want to use it as a player or a GM, then no it doesn't
have much value :)
