Well, I just got the PC game "Kingpin - Life of Crime" (nice description
of a Shadowrunner' Lifestyle :] ), and most of the levels are quite a good
representation of how I would imagine the barrens to be (despite the setting
of the game is more like Chicago 1930's):
Gangers all around (most quite easy to anger...), run-down buidings (some
of them with broken or almost-broken stairwells), with most of the
illumination coming from oil-barrel-fires...
Well, that's at least my interpretation...
