Neal Stephenson's _Snow Crash_ is great, if maybe a little bit over the
top. I also really liked Gibson's _Count Zero_ (except for the silly
voodoo ghost in the net crap) and the "Sprawl Trilogy" from _Burning
Chrome_ is worthy of merit. I remember reading the original "Johnny
Mnemonic" in Omni and it still pretty much defines the genre for me. Bruce
Sterling's Mirrorshades anthology kind of kicks ass, too, (in fact I took
my "handle" from the title of one of those shorts) and his _Islands in the
Net_ projects a plausible image of a near (but not so dark) corporatist future.
