and Mits. When I noticed there are two surprise powers (Combat Sense
and Sixth Sense). I was trying too decide which was best, and ran
into some problems. The Sixth Sense power appears to be unlimited and
with Combat Sense you don't get to use Combat Pool dice again after
surprise is rolled. Take a character with a Combat pool of 8 and
reaction of 6.
Power Points Combat Sense
Combat Pool +Dice from Combat Pool for Surprise
1 +1 (9) 2
2 +2 (10) 5
3 +3 (11) 11
Power Points Sixth Sense
Combat Pool +Dice for Surprise
1 8 4
2 8 8
3 8 12
4 8 16
5 8 20
6 8 24
Something is not right here. For 3 points of Sixth Sense you get +12
dice and still have your Combat Pool. For 3 point of Combat Sense you
get +11 dice and have no Combat Pool for actions later. Either Sixth
Sense is too powerful or Combat Sense is to weak.
And another thing, I was looking over the Surprise rules in SR3
(p.108-109) and it appears that an ambusher can be surprised by an
ambushee. What happens the ambusher magically forgets he's ambushing
someone?
