] And another thing, I was looking over the Surprise rules in SR3

I don't know what to tell you about the Combat Pool and Sixth Sense
thing...maybe a House Rule where whatever Combat Pool you use refreshes
immediately? Oh yeah, there's something...Sixth Sense can only be had
at a rating up to your Magic Attribute, right? So the max you can
spend (at first) is 1.5 points, where Combat Pool, you can get the
whole shebang right off the bat (I said shebang...cool).
As for the ambusher getting surprised, haven't you ever been waiting
for someone outside a building, watching the only door they can come
out of, and then have them walk right up to you, or at least close
enough to notice you before you notice them? Same principle...if
you're waiting in a hallway, you could be checking the safety on your
weapon the moment your target decides to step out the door...you're
surprised (and you must have rolled pretty piss-poor).
