I loved the arab-punk series by George Alec Effinger; When Gravity
Fails, A Fire in the Sun, and The Exile Kiss. He uses a runner type
character going from rock bottom to the top to give you a very good
idea of how life can be at each level.
And my least favourite one would be a CP2020 book of which the name
eludes me right now, but it dealt with two street gangers helping out
a digital librarian. Absolute crap with no convincing characters and
story line and the writing is just cheesy.
