I've read various British legends/fairy tales about giants set in various
parts of the UK, generally set in Scotland, Ireland, or Cornwall (ie. the
celtic or gaelic bits). So a British giant shouldn't be completely unlikely,
the player could say the estate of the noble covered the area where one of
the legends orginated.
A couple of places with giant legends that I can think of are St. Michaels
Mount in Cornwall and the area around the Giants Causeway in
Scotland/Ireland (I think the causeway stretches right across the Irish
Sea).
