Subject: A British Formori (LONG) (RE: A British Giant)

Well; my players just left.

He switched his Giant out for a Formori with a nearly identical character
sheet and the same basic story. I told him I'd let him keep the giant but he
had to get it balanced. He said he didn't want to deal with that anymore. I
didn't want a scene at the moment so I just let him go with it. Knowing that
the new Formori had -9 Flaws despite him claiming it was -6.
And still had the force 7 spells and the Sorcery Aptitude...

So, a chance to see this monster in action...

A summary:

In today's adventure they tracked down the cultists to the "Church of Self
Empowerment" where a blood rite summoning was in progress in the basement.

To get into the church I placed no security. Assuming the basic church did
well to seem totally normal. Just a locked door. The basement however was
reached via a locked trap door behind the preacher's podium. The basement
was also surrounded by a force 6 ward.

He blasts the trapdoor away with a force 6 powerball. This creates a huge
hole in the floor. Another player (the phys adept) makes to step down into
the basement (ward is still up) and gets a sudden feel of danger and backs
away to see a burst of fire below. (A fire elemental hidden until then).
They blast away the ward and our munchkin vaporizes the force 6 fire
elemental with a single manaball (force 6, 5 success, D damage). They step
down into a room with a door on the other end. One of the PC's goes astral
and looks beyond the door. He's sees 6 mages led by another initiate mage
with a woman on an alter and the girl they are trying to find behind the
initiate somehow connected into the ritual. And two force 6 blood spirits
that make a run for him. He high tails it back to his body. The blood
spirits manifest in the room before the door and the munchkin powerballs
them both and vaporizes both of them in one shot...

At this point I'm wondering if I'm reading the spirit rules right cause I
was assuming these spirits would be a very difficult challenge and was
actually worried I might take out too many of the PCs... As such I had
placed my cultists all in a ritual together and not busy casting protective
measures.

The PCs take a moment to ready themselves, get up their defenses and
coordinate. Meanwhile I have one mage break away from the ritual. A level 2
initiate and the only other full mage on the NPC side (the others are all
aspected or simply 'mages in training' designed using the "GMs whim"
rules...)

The break away mage casts a physical barrier and gets ready for a battle.

The munchkin powerballs the wall next to the door away. it's a normal
interior wall so that's not too hard. The other PCs use held actions to turn
the girl their after invisible, throw a stun gas grenade into the room, and
distance strike the cult leader.
If the munchkin hadn't been there I could have recovered from this and
waged a challenging combat. But...
The munchkin then powerballs the entire cult ignoring the woman on the
altar's being at ground zero. Since the girl is invisible he can't see her
so she is out of line of sight and not a valid target (that sounds rules
correct, although odd). One of the PCs uses a free action to put his entire
spell pool on the woman on the alter and defend her...
Three of my mages die. one goes to serious, one to moderate, one to light,
and the leader goes to light plus a moderate from the distance strike.
The powerball also breaks the alter and the hermetic circle and one more
NPC mage goes down from the drain, with another just about down. The woman
on the alter goes out and begins to bleed and an astrally perceives PC notes
that the girl they are here to save is now out and bleeding mildly. (Using a
special GM-fiat NPC-spell that had the cult leader push all his drain onto
her.)
The mage who had broken out of the group uses levitate to throw the grenade
out of the room and up through the hole in the basement ceiling (since the
powerballs had made such huge holes in the wall and floor it seemed
reasonable).

At this stage one player was about to miss the last BART train so we chose
to break off in mid combat.

The stats of the munchkins new character, which I still need to revise:
I will force this character into my rules guidelines then probably take it
out using a non combat method. If I use combat it will just encourage him.

Contacts:

Level 2 - 'Lucifer,' Enchanter/Talismonger. Richard's Guide toward the
arts magical and closest friend Lucifer was the first true ShadowRunner he
had ever met. And he has met few like him. Lucifer is an obvious result of
rather creative cosmetic surgery. His true race is indeterminate. His skin
has been changed to a deep red pigmentation. Horns grow out of his
forehead, his chin has been elongated, and his eyes are red with yellow
pupils. He has chosen to portray himself as the Devil incarnate, just to
get his jollies out of scaring christians. He plays his part remarkably
well and has currently shaved his long black hair to take on a new 'punk'
sort of look. He has numerous piercings(not all visible)and dresses almost
universaly in black skin-tight leather, often with studs. He is a patron of
alternate lifestyles and a rather extravegant extrovert. He takes the
greatest pleasure in corrupting innocent young catholic school girls(and it
is rumoured, occasionaly, boys)and attending the worship at numerous devout
temples and churches to witness the reactions of the clergy and parishoners.
Lucifer is also, however, a Grade 4 Initiate of the Horned Man. He likens
his idol to that of Loki and has a strong, personal, Nordic bent. He
engages in no end of mischief whenever possible and likes nothing better
than to shock those around him. He is boisterous, lecherous, and lewd.
Often doing his best to provoke those around him. His deep cockney accent
is often used to draw the most out of the dirty, or disgusting, jokes he
favors. He never turns down a fight and is wont to occasionaly start one
himself, his skinny frame is said to hold lanky muscles of great and
beguiling strength, however. He is fiercely loyal to his true friends, few
that they may be(though his sycophantic party-goers are many). Indeed,
Lucifer followed his friends move from Britain as Richard was banished by
his family to become an ex-patriot residing in an underground dive in
Seattle.
Lucifer runs a Tattoo parler in one of the more punkish regions of the
city, and deals with illegal and highly valuable Talismongery from the back.
Lucifer is an exquisite Artist and is nearly worshiped by the various
cliques which respond to that particular art form. Lucifer is a masterful
worker of enchanting and anchoring magics as well, specializing in physical
enhancements, and is sought after as well by those in the know. He takes
great pride in his work and invest significant amounts of power within his
creations.

Level 2 - Chumley Lumis, Ogre Chaffeur and Man-Servant. Chumley looks
after Whimsey estate within the Ork UnderGround and tends to the Rolls Royce
in the Garage. He's a simple man and none to bright. He bears an advanced
Rigger Jack in order to make him a dedicated and exceptional driver and
several cybernetic implants to make him an effective fighter. He is a short
stocky man, typical of his race, with a dark caucasian complexion and a deep
cockney accent.
Chumley was a street punk and go-ganger in his youth. After serving time
in a British Penitentiary he was reformed and went into domestic service.
Richard found the shorter man amusing and instantly decided he would be
useful in his trip to the states.

Level 2 - Daniel Son of the Sun, Shaman of the Sun and Politician. A
half breed from the Salish-Shide nation, Daniel never thought himself
readily acceptable by the full blooded Indians who made up the power figures
amoung the Native Americans. His white father, a park ranger, still resides
withing the Salish-Shide. Daniel, however, always wanted more out of his
life and seemed a born pubic figure. Daniel has started small but his
charming personality and beaming smile has readily won him the support of
Seattle. Daniel has won a position on the board of supervisors of Seattle
for his area and seeks higher public office. One day he hopes to run
Seattle. His prospects in public office seem bright.
Daniel while appearing to respect the Mjor Corporations, actually shares
PenDragon's opinion of them as a danger to society. He has often secretly
aided PenDragon in his many Quests. Providing bonuses and bankrolling
PenDragon when no one else would in his own personal crusade. Daniel still
maintains strong allies and friendships in the NAN and even more so the
Salish-Shidhe and can provide aid from those nations and access to thier
lands. Daniel is also a bit of a media hound as a public figure and has may
friends amoung the media.
Daniel is a tall blond haired, blue eyed, adonis with the naturaly sun
darkened skin of a Native Americn mother.

(This is all assuming that Seattle stil has some form of Government.
Otherwise we'll have to move him elsewhere, or back into the NAN or Salish
Shidhe. Or perhaps a Corporation PR Man who hates lying to conceal the
evils of his Corp and hoping to escape to public office.)

Level 2 - Lady Pandora Winter, Albino Fox Shapeshifter Wu Jen. The
beguiling Lady Winter has kept PenDragon attention for as long as he has
known her. Distinctly infatuated with the women half of his size he keeps
her amused with his dashing and driven ways. Lady Pandora runs an upper
echelon techno club(with high ceilings)for the asian community, 'Pandora's
Box.' Rumored to have the ear of both the Yakuza and the Triads Pandora
plays a dangerous balencing game, which she seems to always come out on top
of. She is a Level 2 Initiate with and outstanding ability with Conjuring,
Detection and Tracking, Foretelling and Prediction, and knowledge of the
Planes. She is said to dabble in Talismongery, providing many ingrediants
for the Asian community, as well as others.
Lady Winter occasionaly calls upon he 'great knight' and seems to preen in
his presence. Using him to enforce discipline amoung those in her
establishment, fetch the occasional ingrediant, guard her as she ventures
into the planes, or attempts to summon anything she may not be able to
ensure control of, and generaly look menacing around her.
Lady winter is a tall(6'3")asian woman of smoothly young face, but
indeterminate age. She is impecably groomed and startlingly beautiful.
With silver skin and a cascade of snowy white hair. She may assume the form
of a Snow Fox, but few no of this as she rarely reveals her unique nature.

Level 1 - Phelan, Tavern Owner. Phelan is a massive human magical adept
belonging to the shamanic idol worship of Fenrir. The man is known to dress
in furs and pack a great deal of magicaly enhanced strength behind him. He
has thrown trolls and lifted cars, and is a great man to avoid when upset.
Phelan is know to possess a great Combat Axe, believed to be a weapon foci,
and be quite skilled a combat magics. His favorites seem to be thunderous
or lightning based, however, to suit his Stormy personality. He has been
known to silence rowdy patrons with a great clap of thunder and cloak
himself behind a shroud of electrical might when in combat dealing death
with his own electrical aura. As an Initiate Phelan has been known to deal
with fellow mages forcefully, reflecting thier own spells back upon them
while he hewes with his mighty axe.
Phelan runs the drinking hole christened 'Valhalla' in the Ork Underground.
His employees are usually Orks if not Trolls and the entire wood-finished
establishment has a decidedly Nordic appearance. The employees dress as
Vikings, as do some of the clientelle. The establishment features frequent
brawls, thick ale, and usually roast beast poached from the Salish-Shidhe
forests surrounding Seattle.
Phelan has a growing respect of his frequent patron Richard Whimsey and
often speaks to Richard and encourages him to follow and listen to the
Nordic slant of his dreams and visions. He is a font of advice and
frequently gives his opinion regardless if it is welcome or not. Phelan has
also been known to hire himself out to the occasional group in need of
excess muscle and to provide shelter for those on the run.

Level 1 - Logos Karameeko, Minotaur Shaman of Bull and Club Owner. Logos
is the smooth and presumptuous owner of the 'Mycene' and club for those of a
romantic and daring nature. A favorite not only of the greek community but
of the hispanics as well, for Logos fancies himself a Matador. He styles
himself as such and dresses appropriately. Even going so far as to have a
live bull and small ring upon the club's premises for those brave enough to
try their luck. The Bull is never killed, however, and is said to be
cyberneticaly altered to allow it to be made tranquil and suggestible when
needed. Waivers of course are signed before entering the ring, and the
occasionaly death or maiming has been known(and happily marked on a wall,
filmed, and related later). Simsense and BTL of the experience has been
known to be passed within the club for the less physicaly inclined.
Logos owns the entire block his club resides on. And while the club is
closed for a good part of the day, he manages a Greek Restaurant and
Catering establishment on the opposite side of the block. A high-class
dining establishment, favored by those with the money to spend on
appearances. It is always well-booked come supper-time by corporate men and
the power-brokers or entertainment icons of the city. Earlier in the day it
caters Pastries and such to walk-ins however, in addition to serving coffee.
Logos is a tall, and for a minotaur, hansome. He dresses creatively and
colorfully to display his muscled physique. He is vain but an excessively
friendly and hospitable host. He has a fine business and has many contacts
amoung the Hispanic and Greek communities, especially in the smuggling and
gun running rings. Logos while not an Initiate is a master of Controling
Manipulations in addition to Physical Enhancements and Illusions, especially
of a... 'different' nature. NightCrawler would love him

Physical Description: Richard is a Fomori of a silvered hue. His features
are rugged and not un-handsome but are silver. His eyes are large and
expressive with light blue irises and silver pupils. Richard is shaggy with
a thick mane of hair and well-groomed beard, both of a darker silver than
that of his skin. Richard dresses well, and frequently wears sunglasses.
