<snippage of amusing antecdotes>

I believe that most gamers (no matter how "good" of a role player they
are) fall somewhere between the Real Man (TM) and the Role Player.
Personally, I like to play tough as all get out characters (such as a
street sammy) that don't pack anything heavier than a pistol. Mainly,
you can't one up the GM so why try? (I know, I know: "Because I WANNA!")
While role play will usually get you out of most situations with
relative ease, there are just some situations that it doesn't help with.
"Why yes Mr. Insect Shaman we'd really, REALLY (did I say really?)
appreciate it if you'd let the woman go who you were planning on turning
into your Queen."
Uh huh. Right. Sure.
If you can't think you're way out of the situation, then you're probably
in more trouble than a PAC can help you with.
Just my nickel.
