Each to his own, heh? Drugs in SR canon are incredibly addictive and
dangerous
and I feel you should use them in such a way. Your players should
expect the worst
if they use Hyper and/or Kamikaze, just according to the rules.

I personally feel that players should have some kind of experience
with the seamy
things their players are into. Not first hand of course, but I'm
pretty sure most of us
know a lot of the dirty realities involved in addiction and abuse.
That kind of knowledge
makes for great roleplaying, and a lack of it for pretty lame
roleplaying.

Play what you know.
