That actually makes sense- After you pick up a limp or something along
those lines, you adapt to it within a few days, or never again. Or after
you realise that you can hear something that others can't (not an uncommon
occurance, with these days of low music and urban background din). You
adapt to tinted lenses very Quickly, too.
Fast exercise to test this theory, though it probably won't work. Find a
realtively dark area where you can be in the starlight tonight. Close your
eyes for a few minutes, and calm yourself. Take deep, clensing breaths.
Now, stretch your arm out in front of you. If you can do it (I'm not sure
if I belive the claim that anyone can do this), you will see something very
faint that you may or may not have seen.
Or, if you are out of bright light, you can try it in front of your
computer if using VERY indirect natural light and your monitor.
If anyone goes crazy from that, they should tell us. If you don't, you've
just taken a first step into a MUCH larger world, and you never look at the
physad concept the same way. <slightly crazed, missionary-ish grin is on
my beak>
