Aw, hell. I'm so used to doing this (checking calibration on my optics,
and demostration), that I forgot to tell you to OPEN your eyes. (I'm aware
of the effect you are describing (I've used it for writing in the dark, and
the like), but I've never heard the proper name before. Thanks.)
What about half of the folks, IME, say that they see (if the light doesn't
overload it, which is why I recommend a 1/2 moon and stars) is a slight,
faintly glowing corona or shimmer around thier limb that extends about a
centimeter or three beyond thier skin.
All basic aura reading is (as far as I can tell) is adapting your eyes to
see the interfeerence of the body's EM field or something along those
lines. It occasionally shows up with cameras, particularly GOOD quality
video taken in reduced light conditions without lights or starlight filters
or with LOW speed still footage.
