Whereas I've worn mine through summer. Mind you, riding the Kawasaki
helped :)
(Do Kawasaki still make motorcycles in 2060? We could do with more bikes
IMO)

YMMV. The two jackets I wear most are either my leather motorcycle
jacket, or my old Army combat jacket (comfortable and lots of pockets :)
Plus the camo pattern doesn't show dirt, cat hair etc.)

You can get buoyant armour vests today (found them in Jane's Police and
Security Equipment - the US Coast Guard issue them). Combined ballistic
protection and lifejacket. I can see them being very popular among some
pirates, and derided as effete by others :)
