| Its to much of a stereo-type to be completely without base. Besides, I've
| seen it happen- activities that leave me fresh as a daisy have friends
| twice as massive sweating up a storm. Having more body mass means you
have
| more heat to dump (you build up more heat hauling that mass around, if
| nothing else), and that heat has a longer distance to go from core to
| surface. That's not a big factor with blood flow providing "active"
| cooling (which is what sweating does), but large animals (say, trolls) DO
| have an advantage when trying to stay warm.

Very true. I'm 6'4" and 265 lbs., and while I'm reasonably strong and in
fairly good shape, I still sweat my ass off during any kind of sustained
physical activity, and I don't have the endurance of smaller guys. A good
example is: I'm a firefighter, and we use air bottles that are supposed to
last approx. 28-30 minutes. For me they usually last about 21-23 minutes.
I've known guys who can go through an entire bottle in 11 minutes (very fat
and very out of shape) as well as small, slim guys (and many women) who can
make a 30 minute bottle last 35 or 38 minutes. I also tend to be fairly
susceptible (?) to heat- anything above 75 or 80 F and I just have no energy
at all, but I can go out in the snow in shorts and a t-shirt with no
problem.
