Another note why FASA doesn't publish (most of) the history before the real
"now": you can read this in numerous other books. While games like Vampire
like to show you "what really happened and what the influence of the
vampires was", in Shadowrun the history until "real now" in the game is the
same as in the real world. It is the "history" between "real now" and
"game
now" that they like to detail, and by leaving out the "old stuff", they
have more space for it!
