Not directly, no. But it was one of the main causes of WWI, which had
effects about as far-reaching as those of WWII. WWII, though, eclipsed the
events that happened after WWI for a large part (IMHO) because it happened
afterward, and thus is fresher in peoples' memories.

I didn't say that wouldn't be the case; but what I suspect most people in
the 2050s-60s will remember as the big war, are the Euro Wars. WWII will
probably be "the big war before the last one."
