Problem is that such a line would have phenomenal strength along its
length, but would be pretty vulnerable to breakage if it snagged and
pressure was applied across the length. This happens often in rock
climbing and is one of the reasons climbing ropes have so many
strands. The 50m rope I climb with weighs about 10 kgs and other
stregths and weights are avaliable. I geuss by the 2060s better techa
nd materials will be available, but I dont see anyone breaking the 1kg
to 10m barrier for a while. All this basically means that I dont see a
viable rope and grapple system being installed in a cyberarm.
