Solo/Small group SR works well - if you have the right kind of players. I =

done
it on small scale (solo adventures w/in the context of my regular game) an=

i ran a three person game for a while. It works best if the characters are
into (and
i mean INTO) character development. small scale games allow them to be "on
stage"
more and also allow them to explore more of who they are.
