makes
:>almost no sense- foci don't require actions, its what you do with them
:>that does. I figured it was thier USE that was an exclusive action- IE,
:>casting a spell using a fetish focus was an exclusive activity.
:
:OK. So, you're saying that their use + spell casting, together, is the
:exclusive activity. That's an interpretation that hadn't occurred to me.
It's also probaly wrong, since it would make thier use in ritual
sorcery (or with metamagic, or whatever) impossable.
:I still prefer my initial interpretation of "bond now, use later". Sort
of
:an EGM thing, since an initiated character cannot mask all of their
bonded
:Expendable Spell Foci (beyond their grade, that is), it counts towards
foci
:addiction, is quite an astral warning beacon, etc. A player with any
sense
:of tactics can moderate these problems but it does give the astrally
:perceiving opposition a chance or at least some warning.
Hmm, I'm not sure about the foci addiction, which is based of ACTIVE
foci.
Another possable read is that they take an exclusive / complex action
to ready for use. Anyhow, I've mailed this whole mess to Rob Boyle as a
potential errata.
