My usual group was two people. For some time they played with two
characters each and then one of them moved to England for a while
(he came back just after I left for Ireland :). That gave us a group
of four characters: one negotiator/social guy, one phys-ad, a racoon
shaman and a street sam.
When there was only the two of us we decided on making two new
characters. In order to give him some more chance of survival I both
allowed physical mages (with full astral projection) and gave them
some extra points during creation.
To be honest it wasn't really necessary, unless you want to run the
printed modules. I found out that I automatically adapt the
opposition to the team when I write the run. I was pretty handy that
both of them were magicallly active though, but then again if he had
chosen two deckers it could have been equally interesting.
