To be nitpicky...
Not that I know of... And in a very real sense, I hope not. Vehicles are
big, expensive things. However, once purchased, the amount they fall behind
SOTA vehicles is very, very slow.
Think about it; how much bigger, better, safer etc are this years cars
compared to last years? Not much. If anything at all. Even ten years ago
cars were in the same ballpark as new cars. They just don't advance as much
as computers do these days.
What you may be referring to, however, is wear and tear. Every now and then
the brakes need to be changed, new tires are required. Perhaps new shock
absorbers, etc. To me, that's different from SOTA, but others may view it
differently.
In the case of wear and tear, I'm not sure that exists either, but I can
accept a method similar to SOTA being used to keep the rigger and his gear
in top condition. The only thing I'll argue with is the amount and
frequency of it...
