Lots of folks have mentioned Paradise Lost--that has both
an adventure and a sourcebook and is a very good place to
go.

I also suggest the novel "House of the Sun" by Nigel Findley,
in which a significant part of the action takes place in
Hawaii. (Findley also wrote PL.)
