Yep. They broke with the pope when he was too lax on
the metahumans and magic. IMHO this was written into the
book to have something funny, the german bishops of today
are far more liberal than the pop. Granted, that could change
with the next pope, but with the gain of influence for ordinary
members of the church, I am not sure if it's that realistic.
