This isn't in response to anyone in particular, but I'm bothered by the use
of the word Protestant in this thread. As several people have pointed out,
Protestant simply means "a Christian who is not a Catholic", but many people
are still bandying the term about as if Protestant is some religion of its
own. It's not--and I think you will be hard pressed to find any Protestant
group that actually identifies themselves as Protestant. They are Baptists
and Anglicans and Methodists and Presbyterians and Evangelicals and
Lutherans and Seventh Day Adventists and Christians and many others I can't
think of right off. But they don't label themselves Protestant, and they
certainly don't view themselves as necessarily having any sort of unity with
these other heathen Protestant groups.
