all on Tolkien's literature. Another fantasy-Tolkien stereotype: If a word
has somewhere a "th", or "ch", or ends in "iel"; then it is
elvish.
Eventhough Shadowrun has the basic elements of a fantasy stereotyped based
RPG, I love it because the setting is completely different, and therefore
innovative. But I think developers should try to make things less alike
than other products to maintain some kind originality.

So then you wouldn't care too much for my adaptation of Drow Elves as a SR
character species I'd imagine? ;)~
Actually, that is one of the biggest draws for me to SR also. I haven't
played very many different games, but in comparison to D&D, where all you're
doing is mapping, hacking, and slashing a lot of the time the futuristic and
stylistic settings of Shadowrun is a very refreshing change. There's a great
deal of variety (though you end up sometimes with about 3 or 4 Street Sams in
the party all equipped with Savalette Guardian pistols, M23 Assault Rifles,
and some grade of security/military armor) and a lot more chance and
opportunity for actual RP with the characters. Maybe it's for the most part
shoot and smash sometimes, but it's definitely done with style.
But...I digress...a LOT!
