Oh, if she's playing an Adept, get her to watch
_Big_Trouble_in_Little_China_! No, really! I'm serious! All the funky moves,
the mystic story, it fits SR quite well.

Another good movie people are missing is _Split_Second_. For those that don't
know, it revolves around some sort of supernatural nasty beasty that's
living in the flooded old subways of London in 2011 or something, when the
worlds gone halfway down the toilet. Very cool movie.

For more mature SR players (ie, those who already have a feel for the
cyberpunk aspects of the world as covered by Blade Runner etc that
everyone's already mentioned), I'd also suggest the following movies:

* The Usual Suspects. A great movie with plot twists like a true shadowrun
should have. More shafting of major characters than could be counted <evil
GM grin>.
* Heat. A really good reminder of how to be professional.
* Sneakers. Breaking and entering in a high technology environment, anyone?
* Entrapment. More breaking and entering, and some good plot shaftings, too!
* Mission Impossible. Well, it's less than stellar, but it's still got some
good points.

The above little selection of movies shows the general type and extent of
basic shadowrunning work, I feel. Most of the 'atmosphere' movies (like
Blade Runner, Jhonny Mneomonic, Split Second, etc) are way up there in style
and coolness factor, but tend to lack in terms of a usable baseline for an
actual Shadowrun storyline.
