If you search any of the on-line Nostradamus databases you will find
that this was not one of his quotes.

I think all things considering the last thing we need right now is more
panic and doom messages, so anyone who spots this one please expose this
as the hoax it is.

Not a hoax, the actual quote is only one word off, which could explain why
you couldn't find it. "The third big war will begin when the NEW city is
burning", if you've ever seen the old Orson Wells-narrated special on
Nostradomus that used to run I think on HBO you would be familiar both with
this prediction and with the way it was interpreted at the
time...frighteningly close to exactly what's happening right now - an attack
on New York City made by somebody in "the Great Desert Kingdom" (middle east)
and of course an ensuing retaliatory strike. Though I'm sure your answer will
be simply to say that I am but enforcing the hoax and that I am as sick and
perverted as the other. Quite frankly, it came to my memory and aligned
itself with current events hours before I saw the quote on this list. A
chilling thought, but trying to debase it will accomplish nothing but
attempting to turn a blind eye to what will almost assuredly happen.

An attack was made on our country, civilian targets no less! The last time
any dared to attack this great nation, it was purely military targets and
even THAT launched us into war. And say what you will about me, but I hope
that the same happens now, because if this DOES go unanswered, it makes us a
target. It proves that they CAN get away with it...and so they will. Whereas
if we "hunt down and punish those responsible", it will show that anybody who
attempts such an atrocious act upon our people - innocent citizens who didn't
even see this coming - will swiftly and surely suffer the consequences of
their actions.

Am I hoping for war? Yes, and no. The mere thought of human life is always
tragic...however, this kind of tragedy cannot go unscathed! The guilty MUST
be punished or else they will do it again, and again, and again...and this
world will never even bear a semblance of safety again! If we do not show our
resolve and strength now, the perpetrators of this horrendous act will see us
as weak and use us for their "examples" whenever they feel like it! And
they'll get away with it, until finally retaliation DOES come - too late,
thanks to the bleeding hearts who do away with the notion of war whether it's
necessary or not simply because of the great tragedy that it is - and even
bloodier because it will have been building for MUCH longer.

These opinions will almost assuredly upset and possibly insult some people,
but as long as our minds and hearts are being bared on this issue, I'll share
my own as well. To those who are shocked, upset, and even insulted - my
apologies for what they're worth. But this is the sad truth of it people. And
now is not the time to be turning against each other, claiming each others'
words to be hoaxes. Rather than bickering and arguing, and causing EXACTLY
the chaos and hatred that those terrorists were hoping for, we need to stand
TOGETHER as a nation, and put things to rights and make this country safe for
our people again.

Do I want war? No. Do we need one? Hopefully not, if those responsible can be
captured and punished without and all-out war that would be indeed ideal.
Let's hope for that. However, do not make the mistake of refusing that option
if it comes to be our best and only one.
