Yeah, I apparently missed the "I'm solo bodyguarding this person".

In an ideal bodyguarding situation, I'd like to have 1 rigger, 3
mages (2 with spirits, 1 close in), and 2 sammies (one close in, one
far off). In a worst case scenario, I would be alone and have to
outsource what work I could afford.

As to the drones, I would make them nonobvious. High altitude buzzers
with cameras and infared (The LMG suggestion was a slight joke). One
firepower drone would be nice. When my group played through Mercurial
and a few other bodyguarding scenarios, the idea I outlined was our
basic solution. When we had to keep a low profile - we were hiding out
or keeping low - we slid down on our bellies and made sure no one saw
us. But when we had to come out into the open, we made sure that the
close up support was visible and imposing.

The backups kept their heads down as low as possible in order to
survey and watch out for the close ups. The close ups were as mean
looking as possible in order to be a deterrant to any Joe Assassin
that tried to take a shot on our client.

In Shredder's situation - being a lone bodyguard - I'd take this girl
to ground and hide her until I could kill all the people hunting
her. If the Johnson told me that I had to capture them, I'd up my
price or tell him to take the job and stick it into Aztlan.

But, assuming that I was sitting his shoes right now, I'd buddy up
with all the runners I could, end up owing a lot of favors and nuyen,
and call in some support. 1 vs. 5 while having to protect someone is
about as nightmarish as I can imagine. Once your back is in that
corner, it's time to toss the pride and do whatever you can to keep
yourself alive.
