to folow her everywere except into the bathroom stall. my guy isnt
girl crazy thoe and im an elf but im shorter than normal and not by a
flaw. im shorter because my char is part human and part elf. but
know i get to stay in a life style house that would take more money
than a new char.s creation money at the biging of the game just for a
month. now please lisen can you give me some tips i can use to go
with what i got not what i need shes only a 19 year old why are they
after her anyways? whate why ask you guys that only the gm knows. but
now i also must know why one of you stupidly sujested hideing behind a
table? hello that guy bluw a hole thruw my chair the table the bench
thing that all malls have in the cafiterias and the flower pot of the
potted plant on there other side to peices. and im geting tailed
every morning takeing her to school. now can you give me subjestions
besides blow the dreken heads off?

Ok you have a bad GM.
It is time to train your GM on how a real run works. You employer has
hired you to protect your daughter, the opposition is heavy duty and
someone laid out some serious cash to get her. So now first run or not
you go back to your employer and up the price, then demand payment up
front. It is frequent for an ongoing mission for you to be paid a
weekly salary in addition to the lump sum.
You should be recieving at least 5000 nuyen flat fer PLUS at least 500
nuyen per week PLUS reasonable expenses and at least 2000 of the 5000
should have come up front so you should not be having problems buying
decent armor. It wouldn't qualify as expenses (well actually armor for
her would and should definately be being purchased, at least Form
fitting 4 or Armored Clothes) but a good outfit of Armor costs
significantly less than 2000. You say you don't have permits for your
Shuriken and Katana, well the bribes necessary to get you those
permits for real or good enough forgeries for just about any
circumstance would be since if you don't have your weapons you cannot
protect her as well.
Also if someone is sending 6 guys who are willing to use AV Ammo in a
very public place for her they are paying ALOT, probably more than
50,000 nuyen in most games and more than 100,000 nuyen in mine as I
tend to pay a bit more than most. This means they want her bad. Yet
she is still allowed to go about her daily routine as if nothing were
up. You demand to him that you be allowed to take her on a long
private vacation somewhere where he doesn't even know where she is. If
he says no then you quit, plain and simple. You can only go so far as
a bodyguard and if he is not willing to let you do your job then you
shouldn't be risking your neck on a doomed cause.
Finally when he suggests that you should try to take them alive the
correct response is to laugh in his face then walk out. If he wants
them captured that is the job of another whole shadowrunning team, not
a lone Physad and is going to cost a hell of a lot more than he is
likely paying you. He can even hire those runners to do the job while
you and the girl are out of town, then get in touch with you when the
job is done.
So a suggestion on what to do................
Quit. That's right, just quit.
Take his daughter out in your car, call him up and say that it has
been nice dealing with him but he is not paying enough for your life
so he can come out to collect his daughter and please be sure to bring
the balance of what he owes you for the work already performed. Imply
but do not say that if he does not have the cash in him she will not
be handed over to him and that you will seek your compensation for
this job elsewhere (I'm sure those runners hired to capture her would
gladly give you a few thousand nuyen if you just handed her over,
makes their job alot easier). The fact is that you have no chance
within the rules or bounds of logic of protecting her from them and it
will take a miracle for you to not be killed in the process. If you
were the sole target you would stand some chance of killing them all
first but with your having to protect an untrained civilian there is
no chance for success.
It may not be the best thing in the world for your rep, however no one
is likely to hold it against you that you walked away from a suicide
run. Then on the next run if the GM offers you another suicide run
turn it down. If money starts getting tight well there is always old
fashoned robbery to turn to. It won't leave you rolling in the dough
but it will keep soy on the table and a roof over your head.
