I can't remember if he died at the end of the Dragonheart books, but if he
didn't, then I suppose he's still alive and continuing where he left
off/picking up the pieces to try again. However, it should be a lot more
difficult for him to summon Horrors with Dunkelzahn's spirit (or whatever
it is) patrolling the metaplanes.
