not to be blunt but homicide is not judged by the motivation however pure ,
it is judged by the action of killing another human , the law can call it
what it will manslaughter , justifiable , defence of your nation , your
religeon or your home , it all comes down to one thing and one thing only ,
your victim, a human being , doesn't get up again ,

soldiers are people who are paid ( a monetary sum ) to defend their nation
against aggressors , if that means eliminating your target when ordered so
be it , nowhere did i mention sociopathic this is a psychological condition
, and refers to the reason for the deed rather than the deed itself ,

I was a soldier , i did work for the "wrong" side in the armed struggle in
south africa , and yes if your wondering i did kill , i thought myself
justified at one stage , but realised that in spite of motivation , in spite
of fighting terrorists and people quite willing to kill myself or innocents,
that were undermining the way of life i had sworn to protect , the way in
which we fought the "enemy" was reprehensible , the way in which riots were
put down even more so , i am fully aware of the consequences of my actions ,
and do find myself sick to my stomach , but kori that does not help the
people i shot ,

soldiers in a nation at war kill , they kill other human beings and that is
homicide , does it matter that your people said it is okay and that your
reason is purer and more correct than the other sides ? if it does then you
would fall in line with historical bodies like the SS who thought themsleves
right and justified

I too hope this , but in a world with as many violent people as our own , it
is best that soldiers in the position to do the deed , be most enlightened
as to what they are doing ,
