I don't always make my decker make rolls to see things. Last weekend he was
in a mining company host and it was like the inside of a mine. When all the
lights came on, he knew it was Probe ice without me telling him. But for
the Goblin ice, he could see they were an attack program, but he didn't know
what until he rolled to analyse them. Then he hid behind some stalactites.
It's just a question of knowing that at that point he rolls an Evasion roll
instead of Hide roll, and that Evasion works a bit differently.

Another thing for us is that the decker has spent time on his character, and
on his deck and programs, and this is what he does. He doesn't want it
oversimplified. My players are used to having a split party, and they know
how to wait, plan, discuss, while the GM is busy with one player, as long as
it doesn't take too long.
