overboard, like most of the ones needed to even see stuff. That you need to
roll to log onto a host, I can understand -- it's like picking a lock on a
door, after all. But that you need to do things like roll to see whether
there are other deckers or IC inside just makes it too much a dice-rolling
fest -- to stick with the comparison, you don't have to roll to see there's
someone watching the TV in the house whose lock you just picked.

No, but you would have to roll to see if there was a hidden cammera
observing you as you entered, or to see if you noticed the gun the guy had
concealed under his chair, etc. Plus, a host is (usually) a BIG place- not
at all like a small house. I figure rolls for spotting things involve a lot
of moving around, and knowing where to look matters.
