Subject: Deckers, need new system

That's exactly the problem I see with it as well, which is why I added the
second bit about only being able to do this for automatic operations. But
that way it doesn't really change anything, except for slowing deckers
down...

The problem I have with that is that it makes Computer skill irrelevant --
you too can be FastJack only by writing or buying enough rating 15
utilities.

For me, that falls under the same heading as the high cyberdeck prices. Be
careful what you say about this subject, else people may start taking it
personally :)

Yep. My solution, though not an ideal one, is to divide program prices by
10. (BTW, I should perhaps mention for completeness sake that I've decided
to divide cyberdeck prices by 25 rather than 100 for my campaign.) That
puts software prices at a more realistic level, IMHO, because you're paying
little money (maybe a hundred nuyen) for fairly low-rated programs, while
the top-of-the-line ones are still pretty expensive -- but not ridiculously
so.
