Finally we're getting back to the questions I asked.

It seems there are some strong opinions about blood magic aka sacrificial
magic. People saying it almost always corrupts, despite the Koridji of
australia and the healing shamans of the Hidden face? both using it, but
only ever cutting themselves for the rituals and considering any other form
corrupt.
I like the idea of the Spirit (of whatever name) that is summoned by self
sacrifice being not quite normal. Imagine being a child who knows that their
mother deliberately killed herself in childbirth so that the child could
save the world. Can we say PRESSURE. The weight of responsibility is one
thing that, I feel, would make this spirit so different from Blood Spirits,
because they feel no responsibilty. As for powers, I agree that fear should
be there but only able to work on ill-intentioned people (trying to steer
away from "evil" here) I suppose the main question is, will it still have to
drain blood/essence from people, will it lose essence. Perhaps it has
Temporary Essense Drain, and can only drain from willing targets? Another
cool power would be if it had the ability to make any sentient being feel
the weight of its actions, perhaps the actions of its entire life (Imagine
the Street Sam mentioned earlier crumbling as he feels the weight of the
dozens of deaths that lie on his shoulders, perhaps feeling every ounce of
the grief that the families of these people felt) now that would be cool.
I do agree that such a spirit should not be 100% pure, cos in SR what is?
