Subject: Bugs or : Tracing signal

Hi ppl

Ok my next tric..um question ..

Tracing signals, translation: bugs

Now i saw a program on the dutch tv about a suitcase full of spy stuf
including mirco
camara's, lisening devices, a manual on how to place them, and dozen difrent
kind of bugs

For about 2000 dollars

(and a bag of stuf to find or counter them for 2500 $)

The only type of bug i can find is the tracing signal (and insect spirets=)
and with a good
rating it more expensive then the whole case full of buggs in RL 58 years
before the tracing
signal

Does someone have some info on that or extra rules or somehing becose i
can't believe that
in the time they can make nano tech they can't make better bugs then in RL

Anyone got a idea for this?

since i want to use these a lot with my new caracter

One option you have is to use microdrones or robots. As bugs go their
fantastic because they come with a full sensor package (including visual and
audio), they can move from one hiding place to another, there reusable, and
you need to role their signature to spot the little buggers. For a
resonably well made unit this will be a TN 12 to 19. If it is programed
with vehicle stealth then you will need to make several successes to spot
the bug.
If your character is not a rigger then I would suggest going with robots for
their autonomous reliability. To make one yourself you need B/R (Drone
Type) and Electronics. If your character is in to this type of thing his
electronics skill will already be fairly high. I'm not sure if B/R
microtronics could be substituted for the (Drone Type). The down side to
using these bugs is that they are a little expensive and somewhat fragile.
On average they will run in the neighbourhood of 1000+ for a fairly basic
model. Top of the line you could be talking about several million nuyen
which is well out of the range for most runners. The more you spend the
more options you will have.
