According to Kevin McB, on 17-8-05 20:46 the word on the street was...

> Rather reminds me of the time my Entropy shaman cast... hellblast,
> maybe? Possibly fireball. One of those "You pretty much have to be
> absolutely *insane* to try to cast this!" spells, anyhoo. Been a
> while.

The classic example in my group is of a shark shaman trying to summon a
spirit. He was standing on the flying bridge of a yacht that the group
was trying to steal at the time, and wanted a powerful sea spirit to
help in moving the yacht; so he asks the other players "What Force
should I go for?"

"Force 10!" someone jokes.

"Nah, better be a bit on the safe side and go for Force 8 or something"
says another.

So he decides to average the two, and attempts to summon a Force 9 sea
spirit. First of all, he rolls no successes (duh...), and then because
of his Charisma of 4, he gets to resist 9D physical drain. Ouch.

He is left with a Serious wound, so he's still standing and has to check
if he goes berserk -- he is wounded, after all. Guess what happens...?
And since there is no last victim for him to keep attacking, he spots a
few people sitting on the foredeck of the yacht (did I mention the PCs
were trying to steal this yacht while someone was giving a party on it?
:) and casts a full-force Toxic Wave onto them -- melting much of the
front of the boat in the process...
