Actually, the thing you *should* be upset about is that people who ordered online weeks
after you made *your* preorder are going to get theirs for only about $6 more than what
you would have paid. (says that guy who ordered from Battlecorps). Talk about cutting the
throats of retail shops... Personally, if I were doing it, I'd've done two things:
I'd've limited it to gencon and retail storefronts only (no online mass distributors).
This encourages people to actually go INTO the stores. Retail marketing shows that people
browsing a shop are more likely to purchase related materials than people purchasing
online. Impulse buys increase significantly with proper placement and marketing.
Second, I'd've launched a line of minis simultaneous - covering the basics of the game for
the "new to Shadowrun" group. Heck, even clix minis would be better than
nothing.
