He's making a good job of stabilising himself, and the conditioning
seems to be holding. I think we should reconsider abandoning him. He
could be as useful to us as Emma was.

So far, so good. Now I've got money, equipment, the beginnings of a
network, the first hints of a reputation.
I also know the disguise is holding up. Talked to that cute lady cop
twice, at the Eight and again over coffee the next day to fill her in on
some extra details. If she made me as Mitchell, she hid it well,
considering there's still active warrants out for him and we met face-
to-face after she and her husband splattered those arsonists.
The amount of _quid pro quo_ that goes on is downright scary. I start to
see now why Lilith got so angry at me when I was baiting the
shadowrunners. Sergeant Hart didn't quite hand me a game licence to go
kill criminals, but she made quite clear a few things that Lone Star
wanted to see happen, and especially what they _didn't_ want. Useful
data, and I'd rather accept a few limits on my operations than end up
with the Star after this ID as well as my real one.
Speaking of which, a lot of the money's already gone on the _next_ step
of the escape route, just in case anyone comes gunning for me at home:
another ID and some stashed supplies, ready if I have to make another
hasty exit.
Hope I don't, though, who'd take care of Cat?
Checking my mail, I see something else has paid off. I've got my first
hard target.
Time to get to work.

Watch him. He has ambitions: if he fulfils them, he'll have totally
burned his bridge back to the UCAS. If he succeeds, we can check his
conditioning and see if it's held.
He would be useful to us, but he would have to be handled with enormous
care.
On a related note, a disquieting rumour reached me. The Agency may be
staging some sort of operation into South America. Directed at me,
perhaps?
