several of you interested in this job. I will try to answer all your
questions; those of you who are still interested should let me know if
you prefer to work together or separately, and on which parts of the
job.

Basically: I've got a job underway in Stovington, Vermont. Some outside
factors are trying to interfere: they're local Mafia, and are
threatening violence. I've got enough work to do that I don't want the
distraction. I'd like the Mob persuaded to go away.

I don't particularly care if that's done by negotiation, electronic
mayhem, blackmail, assassination, some or all of the above... so long as
it doesn't make national news, you don't get caught and the mobsters
leave my operation the frag alone.

I'm willing to pay travel expenses plus >>medium sum<< for success.

>>>>>[Generally, I work alone, but can play well with others if the need
arises. I have experience in dealings with organized crime, for and
against, so count me among those not frightened away yet.

If I may offer a suggestion, perhaps things could be better arranged if
there were a number of factions within the local "Family." If this is
the case, then perhaps there are members of that Family that you would
prefer remain among us, rather than others less amenable to reason. We
would appreciate any intel you have on the members, because some
factions may be more easily turned against each other, which is a far
safer and more straightforward means of preoccupying them than direct
conflict from outside forces. If you could identify such to the
respondents, we may not have to work together and each pursue the avenue
that we feel, or have represented to you that we are best equipped to
deal with.

Some coordination will probably be in order, and I assume you will
provide all your contractors with the timeframe for your "job" during
which we will keep your opponents occupied. However, a diversity of
attacks simultaneously occurring to your enemies with nothing to connect
them and suggest an effective countermeasure, would likely be more
devastating than an attack by a larger, unified team.

Speaking for myself, I have typically handled more absolute resolution
to peoples problems, but I do have a knack for a softer touch, if it is
required. Therefore, you may wish to point me in the direction of
someone you'd prefer survive the experience. I also have experience
getting into places and situations where I am least expected, so if you
really have none you wish to stay above room temperature, and you know
of one who is particularly difficult to get a hold of, let me know.

I will make arrangements to be in the area upon receipt of >>high-luxury

Regarding an in-person meet, I hope you do not mind if I send a

often in fact, I work with and through associates and surrogates. Rest
assured, you need only pay me as an individual commensurate with the
task you choose for me. Anonymity is a valuable asset in my line of
work. Again, I hope you will understand if my brag sheet does not name
names either. Please let my earlier statement suffice that I have had
several dealings with La Cosa Nostra and am quite comfortable in that
environment.

As for my areas of expertise, I am quite adept at infiltration, although
I prefer the tactic of hiding in plain sight, rather than the cloak of
darkness. I am skilled in many manners of dispatching individual human
obstacles, but typically do not choose to face multiple simultaneous
targets. As I mention before, I may be more qualified than most others

"Sitting there all 'I'm a hard bastard' like. What the fuck is that."

"Go to hell. It's my biz mask."

"But..." interupts the camera-person, but stereotype brushes it aside.

"It's a habit," he says, "What am I, going to break it for you, after all
these years. Nah, frag off, the cheest look stays."

"Fine," muttered, "But..."

The "but" stays unfinished, as the small group is joined by a third, this
one a nondescript white human male in a tan trenchcoat, hands in his
pockets and hunched slightly: ten seconds after he passed you in the
street, you'd have trouble remembering his hair colour let alone his face.

"Ronin," says the newcomer, talking to the stereotype, then turning to the
camera-person, "And Herman? Been some time."

"Huh?" Ice asks, just ahead of Ronin's somewhat more informative reply.

"He was working with us on our last effort," the samurai stereotype says,
"But I guess you two never actually met, since Ice was providing astral
support only."

"That was you?" the newcomer asks, "Man, your voice is pretty different on
the phone."

"Yeah, it's these fraggin pixie vocal cords, give us high voices, and the
telecom cuts alot of the high frequency stuff, or something. Maybe that's a
load of shit though, so don't quote me."

+++++End footage

As you can see we all know each other well enough to relax and let the
witty/cheesy dialogue flow, so there shouldn't be any double-crossing or
any other nasty drek like that, this ought to be a comparatively pleasant
intro to the shadow world. I'll tell you about the target tonight if you
accept.

On another note, I'm working on enchanting a weapon focus, a Katana made
back in NZ, so there's a sort of emotional connection for me. Did you do
much in the enchanting area at college? If so, can you look through your
notes and check if there's anything new in the area I need to know? And if
I offer a consulting fee, will you consider that offensive?]<<<<<

>>>>>[Uh...yeah...I guess I'm game. I was kinda surprised at the cred
Kirk floated me after we got back from Indonesia. Though, she didn't seem
to take it too well when I muttered something like, "Well if I knew you
were paying this you just might have had a boy-toy." I did it to get a
laugh out of Thirstein which is worth something, but well, like I said,
she didn't think it was too funny. Maybe this shadowrunning thing isn't so
bad after all.

Astral support sounds cool. So, what's B&E? I mean, like if we get
caught, how long would they toss us in the can? I don't think I'd like
prison that much...but if that's not in the picture then, hey, no
problemo.

You've introduced me to Ronin. Seems a bit of a hard-ass, but I guess he
has his reasons. The Marlowe guy, I don't know from Adam, but if you say
he's cool then he's cool. I can't say that there's a people-problem on
this one.

Hmmmm. About the enchanting stuff, I mean, it was required for the
program and I've done some study of my own, so I know a high-grade
power-focus from a crooked stick, and I have dabbled with radicals and
such, but that isn't exactly my forte...on the other hand, there is this
person I know. Well, more like I know and work for (got to pay the rent
somehow). Her name's Tass, and she's an enchanting adept, I help her run
her shop. She's really good at that sort of thing, but she's a bit of a
tightwad. Only lets me get away with wholesale, and I freaking _work_ for
her!?! She has me doing consulting and stuff, and then turns around and
treats me like her stockboy. Say's she's too old to do that bending and
lifting sort of stuff. But if I introduce you, don't make any stupid
comments about the fact she's old enough to be my mom, she hates that. And
don't you dare mention anything about shadowrunning. I think she has
something against shadowrunners in general, but somehow I've never got
around to asking her about it. As for the fee, I wouldn't mind a finder's
fee for putting you together or for my college notes, but knowing her,
she'll drain you broke so I won't ask.]<<<<<

it's
breaking and entry. Punishments if we get caught would vary... I doubt
you'd get anything, hard to prove astral crimes unless you kill someone
really messily and leave a big background count. Ronin's got so much
cyber/bioware he'd probably get twenty years in the electric chair, as
someone in an old movie once said. Marlowe would probably get the standard
punishment for aggravated robbery, if they use that term here. I'll be in
tiger form, so I'd probably get hauled off by the animal control people and
stuck in a zoo somewhere.

Fortunately though, the target is a collector of stolen art, so I doubt
he'll be calling the cops. We've been engaged to snatch his collection and
sell it to the Johnson at 20% of market value, even shares for the four of
us. We're having a planning session tomorrow at about 1200, Ronin's got a
little garage that he used back in his SIR days, it's at >>address<<.

Tass... an intro would be cool. I'll talk to your meat bod about it
sometime soon.]<<<<<

sounds like fun, but I'm in. Should keep me in summoning materials for a
little while, right?

I'll be there at the meet. As for Tass, yeah, just remember what I said
and everything would be cool. We'll talk about it later.]<<<<<
