you're spending all this time doing this, maybe you actually _DO_ have
something to hide, just like I thought. You and Wizard... Let's see here...
Logically, Wizard is a dead Ares researcher, Cybernetics, and he's done all

it'll do you beauty justice for me to see the soul instead of the body. Beauty

>>>>>[ I guess it has been an interesting night. Croaker and Jester
cracked the case. It was Jester who noticed that LSS was called to
investigate the shooting of a girlfriend of the people who had a car
accident.

We suspect our "Donald McGavin", as the DNA identification claimed to
be, was one Angelo Morales. Angelo was admitted to the Seattle
General Hospital on the night of the train incident after an
automobile accident. LSS has record of the accident in question, and
it was one of the "run a red-light" variety. Mr. Morales, arrived
via ambulance with head injuries which caused, conveniently enough,
concussion and slight amnesia. He returned to his boring ordinary
life three days later. He has no family in the area apart from a
girlfriend. Thus we put her on the list of things of people to keep
an eye on, just in case something weird happened.

Well, tonight she was found by her next door neighbor when they were
supposed to go out dancing. She was gunned down. I was able to fake
the media and see that she had to have been shot close by. Croaker
used Drone footage taken from the scene to identify the murder weapon
as from a Viper Slivergun at point-blank range. Can you say
"<click>"?

Mr. Morales was previously employed as the Director of Overseas
Security at Hawker Mining Incorporated. According to company records
(we didn't ask, we just got them), he left work at 1753. No record
of him anywhere afterwards. Puppet did a drone sweep of Angelo's
home and, surprise, he wasn't home. Sprinkler was able to quickly
determine that he hadn't been there since before he left for "work"
in the morning.

My recommendation is that you get us legally into Mr. Morales' home
as soon as possible. We suspect we will find one of two things. 1)
The person who was impersonating him left even the slightest trace of
his own DNA and/or fingerprints midst the background of Mr. Morales'
proper DNA samples. Or 2) The place was swept clean. Either way, it
will confirm our suspicions about Mr. Morales.

Secondly, we need to officially notify the mining corporation that
they have been had, and how.

Third, you need to decide if this ends our involvement in the matter
(either before you have the house swept or after we do it). We have
so far racked up a total of >>man-hours<< for this case. Obviously,
if we sweep the house for SIGA, that will add about a full team's day
of man-hours onto the total, and possibly a couple of additional
hours from Jester. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[Excellent work. Back in the bad old days, Bartlett used to think
these splatterjobs were untraceable. It almost makes me wish he was
still alive, just so I can show him somewhere else he was wrong.

I guess you may or may not have heard the bad news. Our ringer was at
Hawker to keep them from reinforcing three niobium mines in the Yemen,
despite a major military force (old gear, but lots of it) operating in
the area. All three mines are under attack or will be soon: one's
captured, another's out of contact and the third is standing by to get
hit hard any minute.

Someone wants to support a looney-tunes zealot in the Middle East, to
the tune of helping him seize mines that earn Hawker fifty to a hundred
million a year raw profit (depends on the price of niobium ore). Someone
was willing to spend about thirty million yen on weapons for these
fanatics, hacked the National Reconnaisance Office matrix to hide the
signs of their work (and that is _very_ secret), and to kill over thirty
people in Seattle to make sure that they got what they wanted.

What I don't get is how the bad guys - I think I can guess who, this has
the Doctor and the Farmer written all over it - think Akbar's going to
hold and work those mines. Hawker's already appealing to Z-O for help,
buzz is that their CEO is going up the well to beg in person. If they
wade in, they can hire enough muscle to splatter Akbar's army, and I
just don't see them letting this pass. Otherwise, any petty warlord with
a few tanks and mortars will be helping himself to corporate assets
whenever the coffers are low...

Anyway, Sasha's short on options. He's got one company on long-term
assignment in Walvis Bay, but the rest is mostly here: rainy season in
SE Asia, Africa's quiet, so this time is used for training and
maintenance. How do you get two hundred vehicles, eight hundred men, and
three thousand tons of supplies from here to there fast enough to do any
good? Throw in too little and it'll get chewed up piecemeal. Looks like
he may lose the whole company.

And Jason's out there.

Shit.

He'll be okay, unless he gets too heroic trying to salvage the
situation. It's his favourite terrain for fighting, he knows what he's
doing. But I haven't been able to raise him, the uplinks at One must be
down and his headware won't reach Two or Three for a relay via Aden-42,
and I worry.

Which is neither here nor there. I'll take you to the apartment: you're
forensics experts, I'm official, and I've even got a warrant to make it
all legal. I doubt we'll find much, though.

As for where we go from here... I need to think about that.

I'll pick you up from the safehouse in about thirty minutes.]<<<<<

>>>>>[ This first comment is neither here nor there, but I mentioned
to the group most of what was happening and Sprinkler had an
interesting tidbit: "If you are looking to reinforce Sascha's
troops, there are two individuals who have extensive mercenary
contacts and can usually find troops in a hurry if the money is there
from the start. They are Shadowfox and Nightmare." Sprinkler
recommends Shadowfox over Nightmare because Nightmare definitely has
a hidden agenda which can makes things hard at times. However,
Nightmare is located in Europe, which is a step up from Shadowfox.

In an more immediate sense, the crew has assaulted the apartment.
The criminal in question didn't do a full clean on the house, just a
quick one. So we are scouring the pad as well speak. Meanwhile we
(Croaker, Doc, Jester, Sprinkler, and myself) have set up lab and are
analyzing data as it comes in from the rest of the team. Doc is
estimating that by late Monday, maybe Tuesday we should have results
one way or another.

Anyway, I got to get back to work. ]<<<<<

Based on the sensitivity of what we are trying, I think business
hours are a better time to do my plan, because the system will be
more loaded and suspicious activity from anyone will raise more
questions, which I think will be good. I'll give you the full
details whenever you swing by. ]<<<<<
