First the good news. My sources have hit paydirt, and have fingered the
next link in the routing chain back to Thunda, and have fingered some of the
corporates behind his backing. Several of these are Fuchi internals, whose
influence on events is now effectively null and void. Now the bad news:
the router itself is in the Renraku Archology. I have been able to pin down
an exact location in the building, but do not yet have a clear picture of
how it's defended. I have reason to believe that Thunda _may_ be at this
site, though it is not guaranteed. My sources inform me that the only way to
be sure would be to infiltrate the building and finger the machine personally.
In any case, it seems that the Archology's internal Matrix team is involved
with the security for this host. A few members of one of my subcontractors
would be included in an infiltration team, but I wanted to touch base with you
about such activities before going off half-cocked.

The architectural plans relevent are:

You can decrypt them using the same mechanism as before.

I suspect time is of the essence here. ]<<<<<

don't know if you've seen this yet or not, for instance.

Now, the lack of immunosuppressants is not totally without precendent.
Lilith and I would register similarly, for instance, and our 'ware is
Transys-Neuronet's finest. However, even we have the trademark cobwebs
of interface threading linked to various parts of our nervous systems,
which are entirely absent here. It's as if the 'ware he demonstrated
interfaced directly with his body, without the metal intermediaries we
require. I've not seen that before, and I try (with limited success) to
keep abreast of these things.

That makes me believe that whoever is backing Thunda is powerful,
wealthy, and has access to implant technology that is not widely known
on the street yet (I'll discount some of the wilder suggestions in
Azrael's datastores: while much of his material is extremely accurate
and valuable, some of it proves the monkeys-and-Shakespeare theory that
if you suggest a dozen wild conspiracies a day, eventually one will be
true).

Renraku sound like a candidate, or perhaps more likely a faction within
Renraku using company resources for their own ends: the UCAS is plagued
by such, the fact that corporations use it as a convenient excuse
doesn't detract from it's frequent truth. Fuchi and Ares were also
suspects, but Ares currently seems less likely to be so openly
antagonistic to the UCAS, and the fact that the first corporate leads
point to Fuchi make even me think of misdirection.

I doubt Thunda will be within the Arcology. The consequences of him
having been repeatedly entering and leaving would be most severe for
Renraku, as would the claim that he "somehow evaded the security forces,
even the Red Samurai".

However, his support and backing might well be there. My Shadowland
account terminates in the Puzzle Palace, for instance, yet I haven't
been there for several weeks.

If you believe a physical intrusion offers the best prospects for
success, then based on your reputation I can offer the sum of
>>encrypted<< to assist with it, and to buy a stake in the information
it secures. Lilith and I lack the means to effectively penetrate the
Arcology and gather the required data, while you have given us reason to
be confident in your ability to assemble and direct a team to
successfully do so.

Basically: you've demonstrated considerable ability, we have faith in
your and your subcontractors' skills, and we believe that we share a
desire for a stable business environment. Our goal is to end the threat
Thunda presents, with a secondary goal of identifying and punishing
those who backed him. If your goals coincide with ours, we at SIGA are
more interested in results than in how they were achieved.

But I'm sure you guessed all that already <g>]<<<<<
