To introduce you to the players, it is my belief that a recent addition to
the Seattle shadows, a Skull Bearer ... is likely responsible for the attack
on the woman you identified. He, almost assuredly, was in the employ of one
Ms. Johnston to dissuade Cassandra from investigating ... something. From
the chronology I have compiled, I think that this Skull Bearer has
encountered Cassandra twice and travelled to Winnipeg for reasons unknown
over the last three weeks.

Furthermore, I believe a recently developed urban myth -- one that does
not concern giant alligators living in our sewers -- may be of potential use
to you.

A gang of young people in the Puyallup Barrens was recently eliminated EN
TOTO by what eyewitnesses describe as a "living shadow" ... a friend of
Cassandra's, one Dirk Edgewood, had encountered a similar personage and
was troubled enough by the encounter to be muttering about it a whole week
later.

There are too many coincidences here to be discounted without investigation.
I take it ... you are interested in the role of investigator?

Regardless of that, you requested ... "What Happened" Cassandra was attacked
by this Skull Bearer ... "Who was It?" probably the Skull Bearer ...
"Additional info" Skull Bearer's possible residence and probable
employer.

Please forward the compensation for my efforts at your earliest convenience.

(no ricochets) at a target seen only in a mirror, I see how it might be
done.

Get the relative positions and directions between eyes, gun, and mirror; a
smartlink and rangefinder should provide this.

The tricky bits: figure out the angle of the mirror to your line of sight
and the apparent distance to the image of the target seen in the mirror. The
right sensors in your hands might allow you to calculate the first for a
handheld mirror. An active laser rangefinding system in the eyes would do
the second, maybe the first. Or you could do image recognition on the
target, guess at its real size and calculate distance and angle from the
image size and angle.

Once you know all that, it's just simple optics (angle of incidence = angle
of reflection) and trigonometry to calculate where to point the gun.

I presume this capability is a side effect of whatever other stuff he has
installed; it's a ridiculous amount of effort just to do trick shots with a
mirror.]<<<<<

begin with. Just imagine this for a moment - people "colonizing" Ireland,
then getting fed up with all that beautiful green and longing for some
rainy mountain or loch to call home, "colonizing" Scotland, and then
realizing thier mistake and re-colonizing Ireland. That's what happened,
according to some Scots I know.

Feel free to wear a kilt and show off your clan affiliation - if you've
got the same name as some Scottish clan and you're Irish, you've got as
much right to that kilt as they do - you're related!

As for me annoying TNO, we're on live-and-let-live terms these days. I'm
personally mixing up a "Bloody Patrick" for tonight - a Bloody Mary mixed
with Guiness - to curse the man who started the pogrom against the druids.

"Lynch is dead."

It is a piece of news I have been expecting for some time now, but have
not in any way welcomed it, as he was from most accounts a good man, and
most importantly to me, a friend of two of my more important personnel.
Their isolation from direct contact with the matrix will only delay, in my

asthetically challenged people (I gather your an elf like me right?).
Well, if you are at all good at seeing auras, they have been having some
trouble recently with some magical pranks and a little worse (but not much
more). What they are looking for are a few good looking magical watchers.
Some one just to be there and look around while not attracting too much

The big bonus to this is getting to listen to "Azure Lightening" live, and
getting paid for an easy job and all the while letting yourself be seen and

Got to the following address: >>encrypted<< When you get there, someone
In know will pick you up, drive you around a lot, and then bring you here
after a vehicle transfer in a secure location. I'm a stickler for
security. And, for your information, you need to declare and deactivate
any orientation or other internal location devices. Ever since a certain
individual I know told me the location of my clinic to the nearest meter,
I've been a royal asshole in regards to this.

Basically, if you don't declare the systems and I find them(and I assure
you, I would), you'll be sold for parts. Nothing personal, but the
security of my clinic is my top priority. Having Lynch recommend you
means that I'm tell you this before the pick-up team does, so you won't be
totally surprised when they put a hood on you.

And no, Lynch didn't know this part of the security. It's new since the
last time he was here. But I have no problems with taking a look at your
cyber and seeing what's wrong with it.]<<<<<

For your security people to scope before hand:-

+++++begin encryption

+++++include: cyberAug
+++++include: bioAug

That should list all the relevant material that they should be concerned over,
and I've highlighted the systems I'm having obvious problems with in the
following survey - along with what local diagnosis I've been capable of. This
is mainly on the electrical functionality of the systems - I'm uncapable of
checking the bioelectrical interfaces here.

+++++include: diagnostic/sysfail

+++++end encyption

As a side point - how familiar are you with magical interference with systems of
this nature ? That's where my gut feeling on this points to, but I want an
expert opinion to back this up.]<<<<<

cases/rumors of a free spirit possessing a human body, being stuck
there, having only spotty control, all without the "host" knowing?

Yes, We have an aggreement.

Sys-Idented? Unmasked? using a matrix-based wepon? That doesn't sound
too smart. Given the ident, I could make a self-replicating phage
frame to simply search and destroy anything with that ident. All I
need is the ident.

We don't need any money... Haviing a free spirit hanging around the
place is somewhat useful... But just try getting it to answer any
questions.

You wouldn't, by any chance, have a few Yamaha Pulsars lying around,
would you? We need a few replacements. (about 4, and a modest supply
of ammo plus that qusetion, would, according to my calculations, be
more than adequate recompensation for the job, while being under your
origional figure.)

For initial payment, the answer to your question. The circumstance you
describe is unusual, but not unheard of. I recall particular instances
where a host body suffers from either schizophrenia or MPD and has a some
latent or achieved magical talent, making the possession by the spirit
inconsistent.

However, much depends on the power of the spirit. The weaker the spirit
the more inconsistent the possession.

Only in circumstances where the host was psychologically unstable, have I
seen hosts battle possession unknowingly.

I believe this should answer your question.

Though it may sound strange, the method I described is the method being used
by the individual I seek. He is rather desperate. It is more than likely that
, if he succeeds, he will take his own life shortly thereafter. However, this
latter matter is none of our concern, I simply wish to protect the life
of my associate.

The individual you seek is Mick de Lampalago. He was formerly a computer
technician at Smith-Norton Anti-Virus here in Seattle. He was fired for
using corporate materials for his own private use -- namely a cyberdeck.
He developed his attack program there and intends to use it to erase all
traces of my associate's existence through the Matrix. In my associate's
line of work, this would result in her likely termination within a space
of 36 hours. I believe Lampalago was last seen in Puyallup. For full payment,
I must know his location and his ability to access the Matrix effectively
must be destroyed.

Thank you very much.]<<<<<
