E: How the hell did she get away?

M: She had an escape tunnel-

E: You had over two hundred men!

M: We couldn't be too heavy-handed with the police and FBI watching.
And, resistance was heavier than expected.

E: We've been embarrassed in front of the whole UCAS, we've lost nine
men -

M: We achieved the primary mission. I already damage-controlled it and
got word out that the Descabiere bitch was never there at all-

E: Good thinking. Better than nothing. Speaking of bitches, how's the
Broken Leopard?

M: Still sedated. The medics say she's developing a tolerance to the
tranquillisers and the dosage to keep her under is getting
dangerously high-

E: I'd rather risk her being brain-damaged than getting loose. Keep her
under, she's too dangerous awake. Any words from Ziggs and Cates?

M: Yes, but you won't like that either. They were found in Bungle's
room, both shot dead.

E: Damn!

M: The plan may be compromised -

E: We're committed. Push ahead. We'll win this one or die trying.

M: Do you want to be present?

E: Of course. I'll fly out with Lilith and the security detail. You hold
the fort ready, and carry out Phase 1 when the ritual's complete. You
know the plan as well as I do, execute it. I'll rejoin and we'll take
it from there.

M: Understood.
