I checked my own aura later that day and noticed the same gray tinge. I
had, in essence, been infected. Trust me, I have seen far worse.

I think I already know what you expect the creature to be. A wraith perhaps?
But that would only be the starting point Shade. Why is it here? How did
it get here? And it still does not really explain the tainted auras.
Something else is at work here.]<<<<<
