>>>>>[ My, my. It looks a wetworker in London wanted to make a
statement. Terrify the living daylights out of a ganger. Throw them
on a hood of an expensive car -- thereby setting off the car alarm, and
then fill the ganger full of bullets.

By the time the police arrived on scene, the murderer had already fled
the scene. From what the papers say, they have found (in addition to
lots of bullets) traces of tear gas, smoke, and hyper on the victim.
The victim, supposedly, shows signs of being physically assaulted prior
to sustaining injuries incompatible with living. They also have the
murder weapon (hearsay claims it was a semi-automatic pistol). They
are still searching the building for clues at this time and they are
investigating any possible connection between the victim and the owner
of the car or garage that the deed was done in.

Sounds like they are going to have a fun time ahead of them.

One question for you wetworkers out there: Why would you ever leave
your murder weapon behind? ]<<<<<

>>>>>[Leaving the weapon at the scene is something I would be willing to
do, if asked and paid to. Since I would dispose of it anyway, it's no
loss to me.

Why would an employer wish a weapon left? Because, while I would make
damn sure there were no forensic clues to _me_, weapon and ammunition
both leave their own trails, and the employer may wish to use those to
send a message or to misdirect.

Or it might only be an assassin who figures it's better to abandon the
weapon at the scene or nearby, rather than risk being caught with it in
their possession. Ownership is nine-tenths of the law, and if the cops
find a weapon that's killed someone on you, you're Suspect #1.

Or they found _a_ weapon and decided it was _the_ weapon... wouldn't be
the first time cops have jumped to the wrong conclusion.]<<<<<

readin' dis board?), but an assassin might be hindered by the
weapon on his or her escape. 'kay, doesn't sound too plausible with
a pistol, but maybe dere were weapon detectors somewhere? I
mean, someone left an expensive car in the area - most prob'ly dere
was security.

Else - depends on da weapon. An assassin usin' cased ammo
might try to avoid bein' linked to former / later jobs. Or might
_create_ a link if a job description demands... ]<<<<<
