Inside the Easy Eight. It appears that the vid has been spliced
together from several of the security cameras. Blade walks through the
door. While his clothing is different from the standard crowd, a little
cleaner, a little less worn, he doesn't stand out to much. He sees
Vincenzo working behind the bar, and walks over to him.

"Hey, Vinny. Glad to see you guys still have the place working
considering all the trouble you've been having lately."

"Yeah, well, we ain't going down as cheap as some of those bastards
think we are." Vinny grabs a glass and pulls a beer for Blade. "They
fragged with us, we fragged back harder."

Blade smiles "That's good to hear. Is Easy around?" He picks up the
beer and takes a drink.

"Yeah, she's in her office, doing some paper work. You want me to tell
her you're here?"

"Nah, that's ok. I'm just meeting a mutual friend. If she takes a
break though, mention me."

"No prob."

Blade takes his beer and walks over to a booth. He sits, and watches
the door, waiting. He doesn't wait long as the door to the bar opens
and Stephanie walks in. She stops by the bar and makes idle chit-chat
with Vinny before walking over the the booth where Blade sits.

"Hi there Mr Hunter, what did you need to see me about? Your message was
a bit vague even for you, and Daddy always said he could tell you were
assimilated into the bureacracy better because when you had something to
say that you didn't really want to say you'd say it in a really
roundabout way."

"I've got some information for you about the Farmer." Blade takes a
long swallow from his drink as Stephanie waits for him to speak.

"It's about that witness of yours that got splattered. Fortier. The one
who got killed just as your father arrived to collect him."

The small mercenary's eyes narrow slightly as she watches Blade. "How
did you know about him?"

"I did the hit."

"Hmmm... I don't like that much, Mr Hunter."

"I'll be blunt with you, Steph. Jason was my friend. I like you. I
didn't know my target was with your father until I saw him at the scene.
It was just business. Now, I don't know what your or SIGA's policy is on
contractors for the bad guys, but I'm not going down for this. You can
try and get me, but I'll be out of here before you can draw your gun. I
don't want to have to fight against you, but I will if I have to."

Stephanie tries to interrupt "You won't. No point."

"So we can either walk away now or...hold it, what was that?"

"I said I'm not going to try and arrest you. There's no point to it.
The stuff we'd have to use to capture you could be better used trying to
get Farmer or some other bad guys. Or I could burn your brain out with a
spell, but then your brain's burned out and we can't get anything useful
out of it. We probably couldn't take you alive and keep you in a useful
state. And if we did, then what? A trial? That'd require us to open up
SIGA's records. That could be sort of embarassing, especially if you got
a half-decent lawyer. I don't want to hunt you, Mr Hunter. I
definetely don't want to kill you. You're one of Daddy's friends. It's
like you said, 'it was just business'."

"I'm glad you think that way."

"Yeah, well, it makes the most sense. It makes the job tougher, but
shit happens. So now you're going to help out."
+++++end video

I explained what you had in mind. Once he stopped choking on his beer,
he said he'd think about it.

I hope we don't have to kill him. He's a good guy, I can see why he and
Daddy were friends.]<<<<<
