>>>>>[ Well, the mystery continues with this continued campaign by unseen,
unknown forces, against the Universal Brotherhood organization.
The campaign, as many are calling it, had a resurgance in the last week
with the explosion of three UB chapter houses. ]<<<<<

string
of arsons match the patterns of the first five, and there are matches,
undenyably. Same evidence of military-grade equipment, same professional job,
real wiz all around. ]<<<<<

SHIELA: ...let's go over to our on the street reporter, Joe Shadows, for a
look at the scene.

SHADOWS: Thanks, Shiela. This is Joe Shadows coming to you from the site of
yet another arson attack against the Universal Brotherhood. This campaign has
apparently started again after a brief pause not but a month ago.
As you can see, fire fighters are presently battling the blaze, which
started with a huge detonation of what investigators believe to be plastic
explosive at approximately midnight. Although may I say that even when they
get the fire under control most here agree that the building and whatever
materials were in it, will be a total loss.

SHIELA: Shadows, do you have any figures on casualties?

SHADOWS: Yes, I do. It seems odd that considering the terroristic nature of
these bombings, that actually few lives have been lost. The present death toll
is 3: The first, as you may recall, was a passer-by with the name of Matthew
Fisque, who was engulfed in one of first few explosions. The last two were
Donald Thorn and his secretary, Emma Wilder, who both lost their lives tonight.
Thorn was an executive in the Universal Brotherhood movement, and the two were
apparently working late this evening when the building blew up.
Of course, there have been a number of people treated for minor burns
and injuries in the vicinity of the explosions, but no one has been seriously
hurt. It's actually sortof surprising that casualties have been so low.

SHIELA: Have there been any witnesses, any people who could shed some light on
who's doing this?

SHADOWS: Well, Shiela, I've interviewed several people at the scene, but no one
has any concrete data on who could have done this. What was seen was described
as 'huge, dark shapes' running from the area a few minutes before the
explosion, and all who witnessed the blaze recalled a strong orange scent in
the air for a period before the fire--but as to what that means, I don't know.

SHIELA: Has Lone Star gathered any more information about these explosions?

SHADOWS: Well, I've got Lieutenant Parry, from Lone Star's bomb squad.
Lieutenant, what have you learned so far about these events?

LT. PARRY: Well, Shadows, we've managed to figure out the explosive used was of
military grade, probably plastic explosive Compound XII.

SHADOWS: Strong stuff, eh?

LT. PARRY: You could say that... Presently, Compound XII is considered the
preeminent in high-level explosives.

SHADOWS: What about the detonators?

LT. PARRY: The detonation devices, as well as the placement of the charges
suggests to me that whoever did this was well versed in the procedures of
demolitions. This was a top-rate job, by anyone's scale.

SHADOWS: So, what do we have here?

LT. PARRY: We've got a group of terrorists who have a specific target in mind,
are very professional, highly skilled, and have access to military-grade
equipment. A real unpleasant combination.

SHADOWS: Indeed. Well, it looks like they've finally got the fire under
control. I can see from here that most of the structure has collapsed, and
what's left is probably gutted.
Oh, before I go, I'm going to read this statement I recieved from the
Univeral Brotherhood regarding this latest incident:

"We deeply regret this attack upon our organization, but cannot fathom
the reasoning behind it. We are a peaceful movement, dedicated to the
broadening of Man's consciousness, and cannot understand why anyone
would engage in such acts of violence against us."

The statement is signed by Martin Johnson, Assistance Director of Public
Relations, Universal Brotherhood, Central Seattle (Octogon) chapter.

Well, there you have it, another bizarre attack on a Universal
Brotherhood chapter house as this mysterious campaign against the organization
continues. Back to you, Shiela.

>>>>>[ You got me, Jack. But I've seen a photo of this Martin Johnson guy.
I ran accross it in some data file:

"...Young, maybe 30 years old. Real smooth demeanor, probably a sales
background. Big smile, artificial teeth. Weird cybereyes: you see numerous
relflections of yourself when looking into his eyes. A surprising affectation
for someone whose job it is to make you feel comfortable and feed you the
company line. The office is full of flashy tech and expensive pastels--what
you'd expect from a big multinational corporation, not a non-profit
organization." ]<<<<<
