>>>>>[A body was found floating in the sound today. The male caucasian
had five heavy pistol rounds in various non-fatal locations, and there was
evidence of other torture before he died. The guy's left arm was missing,
the cops are operating under the idea that he was attached to something by
that arm and when it came off, then rest of him floated up to the surface.
And it was not a pretty sight. A local Shark Shaman found him this morning
at about 06:00, the mad bastard was out for a spot of fishing.

All pretty ordinary so far? Well, keep reading. The cops ran the bullet
profiles through their ballistics database, and waddya know? They matched
the slugs pulled out of several patrons of a bar in town that was shot up a
month or so back by some guy who was looking for "Pyro".

The stiff's background was checked too, and the SIN they found was false.
Not a bad one either, it would have passed on most handheld SIN scanners.
Anyways, they're beginning to think that the corpse is that of Pyro, and
that the bar-shooter eventually found his man.

In another twist, and this is what makes me think this will be interesting
to most of my readers, the ballistics of the gun were those of a weapon
included in a shipment that went to Renraku Seattle less than two months
ago. The cops are checking that too.

Here's a copy of the information request sent from LoneStar Seattle to
Renraku Seattle, by "secure" e-mail:

We would like to know the current whereabouts of the weapon with the serial
number >>number<<. This Colt Manhunter heavy pistol was shipped to your
Arcology on the 15th of March of this year.

Here's a copy of Renraku's reply:

That weapon was part of a number of that type which were stolen on
03-16-58. We attach the relevant incident report file

+++++Include file repD3687.txt

The case is still open, and we have no real likelihood of closing it at any
time in the future.

"And we wouldn't tell you even if we knew, so nyah nyah nyah!"

So, 'Raku are stonewalling, and the investigation into the death and
identity of the floater is getting nowhere fast. Maybe this info is of some
use to someone out there.]<<<<<

>>>>>[I've received a communication from Renraku Seattle... they say
that the weapon the police were asking about, as per that comment from
Online Tonight, was one of the ones "stolen" and issued to our operatives.
I've checked the records, and it was in fact the Colt Manhunter issued to
you. I presume that this floater was Pyro, and judging by the fact that you
signed for a new weapon a while back, I'm guessing that you've discarded
the old one?]<<<<<

>>>>>[Yes it was probably Pyro. I haven't thrown any other bodies
into that particular stretch of water with their left arms chained to a
rock, not for several years anyway. :P . And yes, I chucked the weapon from
a ferry, halfway across the Sound, after melting the plastic grips over a
bunsen burner.]<<<<<
