Give me a place where you are not going to be a week from now, and I will
try and fake them out. Might even be able to get the fee if I am
convincing. But in order to pull this off I will need your exact body

See what you can do with that. I'll be leaving town the 17th, after this
hit. And I think, more likely than not, I won't be coming back to my
apartment in Redmond. In fact, I'll probably be out of Seattle for a
bit, at least until the heat dies down. Stage my death in my apartment,
if you like. I'll set you up with the keys and info. Just try not to get
too much blood on the sofa.
Bah, that sounded bitchy. I'm sorry. I'm still out of action, and I'm
being hunted by god knows who for trying to do a good deed. I appreciate
your help a LOT. Any way I can repay you, just let me know.]<<<<<

Hmph. For someone who just had an attack of morality, she doesn't seem
too perturbed about the fact that most likely Methos will be making some
poor soul into a body-double for her and slaughtering them in her
apartment.

It's your character, of course....

Watch your <t/d> stamp formatting here. Methos made the same mistake of

More importantly though, your death doesn't have to be permanent. Maybe
with your "death" I can learn something more. Find out some info that you
can us to turn back at them. If you can neutralize the people that want
you dead, you could have your life, and your rep, back. It might take
months, but you can always move to another city or go to a really gifted
doctor and when the doc is through shuffling your face, and whatever else,
you can set up business here again with a new name, minus the rep you have

I just got a notice from the list server saying that my posting had been

I only sent it once and it does show up I think. I got it anyway. did

for the events that led to Jett's quitting the team and going to Seattle.
Jett was leading us on a run on a large corporation's research
facility, but something went bad. As far as we know, it turned out to be
a set-up. When we got to the compound, there were Black Dogs (heavily
armored and cybered guards: they're paramil and real pros) waiting for
us. They opened fire.
Jett risked her own butt to get into one of the armored vans, kill the
rigger, and pick us up. We managed the escape because of her: if she
hadn't thought quickly we all would have been slaughtered and not just
wounded. She saved all our lives. But one of our team, in battle, was
thrown off a ravine and nearly killed. We had to leave him behind until
we could regroup. He survived, but Jett blamed herself for that, and
after that run left the team.
Jett has had dealings with a LOT of groups in the past, including the
Yakuza. She seldom talked about any of it. I don't know if her past
finally caught up with her, or she made some powerful NEW enemies. I
don't know who killed her. I would just like to know WHY she had to
die.]<<<<<

she's a hero as much as the rest of us do. That was part of what was so upsetting about
Jett's decision to leave: all Jett ever seemed to see was her own faults. Some day, when
she got more sure of herself, she would have made a hell of a good leader. Hell, as far as
we're concerned, she already was.
In this biz, you come to understand sacrifice to save the majority, and
we respect that Jett made a very difficult decision, both in leaving
Block and in risking her life AGAIN once the rest of us were safe, to
retrieve him.
Jett didn't accept it, but Blockhead admitted that it was his own damn
fault, what had gone on: he wound up in the ravine because of his own
screw-ups. First, he overloaded his rifle and it blew up in his face.
Then, instead of running while he was unarmed and everything was going
to hell, he took a Black Dog on alone, hand-to-hand. Troll or not, the
Dog did a job on him, and wound up tossing Block down the side of the
cliff. Blockhead pulled through, though nearly every bone in his body,
literally, was broken. He's still in the hospital, as a matter of fact,
although a couple of weeks ago they removed the body cast.
I'll quote Block, from his hospital bed: "The girl did the right t'ing
leavin' my stoopid trog ass behind. I jus' wish she'd stop blamin'
herself for my frag-ups."
As for the Yaks, well, as far as I know, she was on good working terms
with them. That was less than a year ago, that she had her last dealings
with them. But she had enemies, whether she knew about them or not.
To answer your question, no, I don't think it was anyone she knew that
did her in. It wouldn't surprise me if her killers were someone she
never would have expected. ]<<<<<
